Oral health concerns more than the teeth.
Gum disease can cause many complications if left unchecked and untreated. Symptoms of gum disease can be:
- Bleeding of the gums when you brush
- Swollen gums
- Halitosis (bad breath)
- Receeding gums
- Sensitivity
If you have any of the symptoms, it’s worth coming in for a routine check-up. If you do have signs of periodontics, we have an expert on our team, Arwa, who can give a more thorough consultation and follow up with any necessary treatment.
How is gum disease treated?
In most cases, gum disease is caused by bacteria that grow in plaque. Regular visits to a hygienist will reduce the chances of gum disease developing and they will be able to assess the general health of your gums.
We can clean the area under your gums if the bacteria has spread near the roots. For deeper and larger affected areas, we can use surgery to treat the gums.
