Sometimes it’s only a single tooth that impacts our smile – perhaps a discoloured or chipped tooth.
These can be treated with veneers, restoring the appearance of your smile. A veneer is a thin shell that is fixed to the front of the tooth. We match the colour to the rest of your teeth so it’s nearly invisible. The veneer also protects the damaged tooth.
Veneers only require a small amount of enamel to be removed, so they are ideal if you only want an invasive treatment.
Here’s what to expect:
- A thin layer of enamel is stripped away from the tooth but only if necessary.
- We take an impression of your teeth so we can create the perfect fit. We also note the colour of your teeth.
- Once we have the veneer ready, we cement it in place.
- How long the veneer lasts depends on good oral hygiene and general care. Brush twice a day and floss regularly. We also advise that you avoid biting anything hard as this could damage the veneer.
